ABOUT THE ROLE
The Data Analyst role is a versatile contributor to our highly regarded professional data team. In this role, you’ll conduct data analysis and create data products that advance how our Region operates. You'll work with diverse datasets including community, health, transportation, and more.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Provide professional data engineering and analytics services to a variety of projects
- Develop dashboards and web-map apps to enable easy access to data to glean insights
- Create compelling and intuitive data visualizations and stories for non-technical stakeholders
- Lead initiatives that advance our capabilities and services available to customers.
- Support a community of data professionals including delivering training
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data-informed decision-making
- Apply spatial analysis and GIS skills to solve location-based problems
- Respect and promote core principles of data privacy and ethics.
- Other duties as assigned.

WHAT GETS YOU CONSIDERED
- Successful completion of a College Diploma in Computer Information, Geomatics, Information Technology, or related field, or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in a professional data role.
- Demonstrated experience managing data with an appreciation of data management principles.
- Expertise in GIS, web map technologies, and dashboarding and related tools
- Strong background in data processing and automation
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- Passion for civic tech and using data for social good
