ABOUT THE ROLE
This position is responsible for the development and delivery of the data migration strategy and work-stream plan for the Region’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) system; establishing data governance, ensuring accurate data transfer, and maintaining data quality, integrity, and relevance through implementation.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Develops data strategy and plan for the project ensuring alignment with business objectives and the Region’s overarching data strategy.
- Establishes data governance for the ERP, including data access controls, data ownership, and data stewardship.
- Leverages processes, templates materials as developed by DAVS and adheres to established policies / standards (i.e. Data Governance).
- Ensure all work activities associated with the identification cleansing, enrichment, extract, transform and load of data from legacy systems into new ERP system solution are auditable and accurate.
- Facilitates the development of data deliverables.
- Collaboratively works with project team in relation to preparation of project plan for data activities, cutover tasks, deployment activities, and risk management.
- Responsible for providing estimates and status reporting to the project manager(s) for data cleansing and migration related activities.
- Approves all data deliverables and work products.
- Ensures data quality and readiness prior to data migration cycles.
- Develops ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure data consistency and accuracy.
- Extracts and stages data from various Region systems for transformation and migration.
- Establishes data validation rules to capture technical and functional data validation results.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Successful completion of a University Degree in Computer Science or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum five (5) years experience in large data conversion projects backed by strong understanding of ETL processes, data cleansing and data loading for master and transactional data, including a minimum two (2) years of direct supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant program development, applicable legislation and industry standards, and current practices.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Standards, Acts and Regulations.
- Ability to demonstrate the Region’s core and leadership competencies for this level.
- Demonstrated report writing, analytical and project management skills to meet program objectives and work to tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate programs and services in assigned program area, and to develop and implement change management plans.
