ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Manager, Talent Management and Leadership Development, this position is responsible for delivering, facilitating and evaluating leadership development programs and providing one-on-one coaching services to the Region’s people leaders ready for advancement. This role will work closely with organizational leaders to identify development needs, create engaging learning experiences, and measure the impact of leadership training initiatives.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Facilitates leadership development programs, workshops, and seminars that align with organizational goals and leadership competencies.
- Facilitates team building and planning change initiatives as requested; ensuring that program practices support strategic objectives, and are consistent with relevant legislation, regulations and policies.
- Develops and organizes training materials, including presentations, handouts, and digital resources.
- Leads interactive training sessions, ensuring participant engagement and learning.
- Assesses the effectiveness of leadership programs through feedback, surveys, and performance metrics.
- Provides one-on-one coaching and mentoring to leaders at entry level supervisor and manager levels.
- Works with People, Equity and Culture (PEC) and other department leaders to integrate leadership storytelling in the classroom.
- Stays updated on the latest trends and best practices in leadership delivery and incorporates them into programs.
- Contributes to the maintenance, and assessment of the Region’s Competency Framework for leadership and front-line staff to guide and align people practices in pursuit of the Region’s strategic direction.
- Contributes to the implementation, and facilitation of large-scale corporate development programs to support corporate-wide initiatives and changes.
- Recommends updates to policies and guidelines related to various initiatives, including benchmarking comparable organizations.
- Partners with internal communication resources to develop engaging and effective communication plans to support programs.
- Facilitates cross-functional groups and communities of practice to enhance communication and delivery of talent management, succession planning, performance management and recognition programming.
- Plans focus groups and train the trainer sessions, in consultation with client groups and Instructional Designer.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Successful completion of a University Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certification / Accreditation as a training facilitator, and an Executive Coaching Certificate or ICF-accredited coach education program.
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in leadership training, or a related field, including three (3) years of direct supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated exceptional experience leading, facilitating and managing projects, as well as designing training and development solutions, processes, and programs. Experience facilitating to a broad range of audiences from front line staff to senior leadership teams.
- Excellent training, facilitation, presentation, communication, research and writing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to connect with a range of internal and external partners while focusing on fostering collaborative work relationships.
- Strong ability to develop relationships and work in a welcoming and inclusive environment, where diversity is celebrated and where everyone can develop to their full potential.
