2025 Retail Internship

The York Revolution is a member of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball.  WellSpan Park is a multi-purpose entertainment complex that is open year-round for events such as concerts, trade shows, holiday parties, non-profit fundraisers, youth athletic league championships, and much more!   Our goal is to be the most welcoming place in York, and we take pride in achieving that mission.

We are in search of highly competitive, highly motivated individuals who have a clear commitment to a career in sports and entertainment venue marketing and management.

Once an application is received, it will be reviewed and we will interview candidates whose credentials, experience, and interests are most equivalent to the available positions. 

Once chosen, we will conduct a series of interviews consisting of the following:

All candidates will be responsible for their own travel expenses to and from York, PA for any in-person interviews.

This full-time internship position will receive a monthly stipend of $1,000.00 and will be eligible for retail commissions.

The York Revolution does not provide housing for interns although we will make every attempt to connect incoming interns and assist in the procurement of a rental apartment.

As the Retail Intern, your primary goal is to increase revenue and improve customer service in the First Capital Federal Credit Union Team Store at WellSpan Park and online through merchrev.com. Specifically, this position will manage the day-to-day operations in the team store including staffing, procurement, inventory management and reconciliation. There will be an opportunity to design merchandise to build your personal portfolio and increase sales and attention to York Revolution brand. The Retail Intern will manage and schedule a staff of approximately six people throughout the season to staff two locations within WellSpan Park. The Retail Intern will have input in inventory selection and store layout based upon customer feedback and sports apparel trends with the goal of maximizing revenue. This position will be largely responsible for reaching in-season revenue goals and will receive commission based on gross retail revenue. The Retail Intern reports directly to the Director of Ticket and Retail Operations. 

Requirements: 

·         Recent college graduate or pending graduate.

·         Two years of retail experience in a part- or full-time capacity is preferred but not required.
·         Design skills using Adobe Suite

·         Experience working in the sports industry is preferred but not required.

·         Committed to the values of initiative, responsibility, caring relationships, integrity, and innovation

·         Proficient in computer technology including Microsoft Applications and Square POS software.

·         Excellent organizational, written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

·         Manage the First Capital Federal Credit Union for all home games in the 2025 season, with the exception of those excused for vacations or other time off.  Hours for non-game days will be dictated by the Director of Ticket and Retail Operations.
-         Become the organization’s expert in the retail software Squareup with the goal of maximizing utilization and increasing efficiency and revenue.

·         Be the content manager of the website of the First Capital Federal Credit Union Team Store, merchrev.com, with the goal of increasing online and in-person revenue.

·         Schedule, train and supervise team store staff.

·         Assist the Director of Ticket and Retail Operations with managing inventory, including counting, barcoding, storage and display in store.

·         Assist the Director of Ticket and Retail Operations with purchasing of retail inventory.

·         Seek customer feedback on merchandise, both directly by surveys, focus group, and the like, and indirectly by discussions with customers, to better guide future purchasing decisions.

·         Collaborate with the Marketing Director for design of retail offerings with the opportunity to create new designs

·         Communicate with the Marketing Director and Online Advertising and Sales Manager on promotion of merchandise and provide social media content, with the goal of increasing retail revenue.

·         Create fun and unique ways to promote merchandise with the goal of increasing retail revenue and creating demand for our products.

·         Research industry trends in retail and adopt effective campaigns and technology that can increase revenue and consumer awareness of our products.

·         Create an organized, clean and creative atmosphere in the First Capital Federal Credit Union Team Store.

·         Manage cash settlements and deposits of the First Capital Federal Credit Union Team Store at the close of each business day and generate daily sales reports.

·         Supervise shipping or pick-up of online orders.
