Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Java Support Engineer to join our dynamic team in Brooklyn Park, MN. In this role, you will be responsible for providing production support, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents and events impacting Target technology. As an Operations Support Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the continuous smooth operation of our technology infrastructure. This position is a 1-year contract with a hybrid working arrangement, requiring onsite presence 1 day a week and a rotating weekend expectation (every 4 weekends).

Weekend Rotation: Rotating weekends, every 4 weekends
Responsibilities:
Assess and prioritize issues impacting Target technology, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
Perform knowledge-based recovery of incidents and events to restore services and minimize downtime.
Maintain clear and concise communication with end-users through both verbal and written channels, ensuring they are informed throughout the resolution process.
Execute repeatable tasks such as system maintenance, deployments, monitoring, and ensuring overall operational stability.
Engage with other technology teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, promoting collaboration across departments.
Provide support in a service desk or operations center environment with a focus on incident management and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
Strong hands-on experience in Java programming.
Practical experience with Kafka for handling real-time data streams.
Expertise in Spring Boot for building and maintaining Java-based applications.
Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and relational database management.
Previous experience providing production support, including managing and resolving incidents in a fast-paced environment.
1-2 years of experience working in a service desk or operations center, managing incidents and events.
Basic understanding of ITIL processes, particularly in incident management, change management, and service delivery.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to articulate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A solid understanding of infrastructure and application technologies in an enterprise environment.
More specific and advanced skills in storage, networking, and other core technologies are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.).
Familiarity with automation and scripting tls
Advanced experience in networking and storage technologies.
