Overview: We are seeking a skilled Senior Android Engineer for multiple native Sr. Android & iOS Engineers to supplement current mobile team to build out enhancements and features for customer facing mobile apps. The current team is small and has bandwidth constraints.
Location: Hybrid 3 days / week onsite - Oak Brook, IL (must be local)
Required Qualifications:
Experience: 10 years of professional Android development experience.
Kotlin Proficiency: Strong experience with Kotlin, including coroutines, extensions, and advanced language features.
Jetpack Compose: Proven experience in building Android UIs using Jetpack Compose.
Google Maps API: Hands-on experience integrating and working with Google Maps API, including custom map markers, geolocation, and map-related services.
Architecture: Solid understanding of Android architecture components (e.g., ViewModel, LiveData) and MVVM architecture.
Version Control: Proficiency with Git and version control systems.
CI/CD: Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for Android.
Testing: Familiarity with Android testing frameworks (JUnit, Espresso) and a test-driven development (TDD) approach.
API Integration: Experience with RESTful API integration, handling asynchronous data loading, and working with JSON/XML.
Agile Methodology: Comfortable working in an Agile/Scrum environment, participating in sprints, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
