Job Responsibilities
York Technical College, a member of the South Carolina Technical and Comprehensive Education System, is a public, two-year institution of higher education that offers a variety of associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. Through maximizing student success, the College seeks to contribute to the economic growth and development of York, Lancaster, and Chester counties and of the State.
The Instructional Innovation Specialist performs the following functions :
- Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop and implement innovative instructional strategies and materials that meet the needs of learners. Utilize best practices in instructional design and accessibility to create engaging and effective learning experiences. Participate in curriculum development projects with other department members and academic stakeholders.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to integrate emerging technologies, innovative strategies, multimedia assets, generative AI, and immersive experiences into course design and delivery. Curate VR / AR experiences and simulations that enhance learning outcomes and personalize learning experiences. Produce professional videos and multimedia assets for the delivery of courses, professional development, training, and other content.
- Develop and maintain supplemental or tutorial materials to assist faculty and students in the use of instructional technologies. Train faculty on the use of new and existing instructional technologies. Participate in collaborative projects and initiatives to promote best practices in educational technology.
- Use data analytics to inform instructional strategies, personalize learning experiences, and improve student outcomes. Develop and implement assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of instructional innovations. Utilize data-driven insights for ongoing improvement and to demonstrate the impact of new technologies on learning outcomes.
