Video and Media Editor II

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for post-production processes from editing line cuts to finishing videos, including color correction and audio sweetening
• Cut-shot sequences to different angles at specific points in scenes, making each individual cut as fluid and seamless as possible
• Study scripts to become familiar with production concepts and requirements
• Assist in development of scripts and storyboards for public and agency videos, as required
• Edit video to insert music, dialogue, and sound effects, to arrange them into sequences
• Utilize a variety of industry standard programs, such as the Adobe Creative Cloud tools, to cut unnecessary footage, refine existing coverage, insert appealing transitions, and otherwise improve upon the raw material of the footage
• Prepare media files to be shared across multiple platforms, including but not limited to, approval processes, Adobe Creative Cloud, and web-based video delivery
• Manage media storage and retrieval; ensuring all digital files are saved and cataloged for project operations, delivery, and long term archival
• Maintain a high level of knowledge of the most current and emerging software, techniques, and technologies
• Apply story development, directing, cinematography, and editing to create compelling edit content that shows the intended story and message per the script and direction from producers/directors
• Maintain a professional approach and demeanor at all times, including interaction with crew, talent, and customer executives, and other guests

Skills & Abilities:

• The Video and Media Editor shall have experience using the following applications and methods:
  • Adobe Creative Cloud – contractor personnel shall be able to proficiently use the software applications included in the most current version of Adobe Creative Cloud as long as it exists, including, but not limited to, After Effects, Premiere, Audition, and Photoshop in support of video and audio editing, animation, and other multimedia presentations;
  • Microsoft Office Suite – contractor personnel shall be able to use the software applications included in the most current version of Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Conversions – contractor personnel shall understand various video and graphic formats and be able to convert them into usable file types suitable for both post-production and delivery.
• Must have some experience handling lights, cameras, and other studio equipment.
• Experience designing print and digital graphics using Adobe Creative Cloud applications is a plus.

Education & Experience:

Shall meet one of the following minimum requirements:

• Have 5 years’ experience in video editing
• Have a Bachelor’s degree in film and video or related field, plus 1 years’ experience as a video editor

Additional Requirements:

• May require occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs)
• Requires extensive sitting, standing and walking
• Domestic travel requiring multi-night stays within and at times outside the local work area
• Valid U.S. driver’s license
Must be willing to complete suitability, background checks and drug tests required by current or future contracts
