As the Vice President, Business Development , you will be responsible for growing and retaining profitable relationships while championing a culture of innovation and a customer-centric mindset. You will generate high-quality sales leads for middle-market bankers by engaging prospective clients in meaningful dialogue about their banking needs and identifying opportunities to create mutually beneficial relationships. The role involves collaborating with local market teams, either remotely or in person, to develop persistent, productive relationships that align with regional business development needs.
This is a commission-only position with no base salary, meaning your earnings will be based entirely on your performance and ability to generate successful business relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect Research : Identify optimal points of contact with prospects, stay informed about key events that influence banking needs, and develop strategic approaches to win new relationships for the Commercial Bank.
- Relationship Building : Develop relationships with qualified prospects with $20MM - $100MM in sales within assigned markets and identify opportunities to introduce bankers as appropriate.
- Product Knowledge : Pursue broad and ongoing education on Commercial Bank products to remain conversant in the features and benefits of our full suite of offerings, including treasury, credit, retirement planning, investment banking, and more.
- Collaboration : Work closely with partners across the firm to appropriately prioritize prospects, share best practices, leverage competitive intelligence, and adapt strategy as needed.
- Record Keeping : Maintain thorough records of activities with each prospect to ensure effective communication with multiple touch points across the bank.
