Job Description
Business Development Manager
The Business Development (BD) Manager supports Yorktown Systems Group, Inc (YSG) by identifying, vetting, and maturing new business opportunities from discovery to award to continue YSG’s track record or pursing and winning new business that provides training, mission support, and professional services to our government customers. The BD Manager focuses on growing YSG’s existing footprint among defense intelligence customers and expand into new organizations in that market.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages and aids in analyzing, planning, research, and development of YSG’s corporate growth objectives and strategic plans in order to achieve business opportunity success, growth, and financial profitability.
- Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements.
- Identifies and builds a pipeline of new business opportunities based on YSG’s growth strategy, capabilities, market trends, budget analysis, and other influencing factors.
- Develops and maintains relationships with Government customers to understand upcoming mission/program requirements and develop winning solutions.
- Establishes partnerships across industry to position YSG for new business opportunities.
- Qualifies potential new business opportunities by analyzing market trends, opportunity requirements, and business cases.
- Develops an initial capture strategy to vet preliminary offerings with customers and shape RFP requirements favorable to YSG.
- Promotes opportunities to internal and external stakeholders to articulate opportunity viability at each phase of the YSG BD Lifecycle and gain Executive approval for the resources to bid opportunities.
- Drives in-depth research and analysis and related collaboration with stakeholders and subject matter experts to brief YSG executive leadership on opportunity viability.
- Administers effective bid, pricing, teaming, and proposal strategies with coordination and support from the Growth team.
- Promotes organization in industry trade associations. Attends conferences and industry events.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- This position will also serve as the YSG OASIS Program Manager (PM). The YSG OASIS PM will action all capture activities for OASIS opportunities.
- Manage all active OASIS Task Orders for YSG.
- Will report to and support the YSG Senior VP of Operations for all active OASIS Task Orders maintained by YSG.
