Summary:
Yorktown Systems Group is seeking a highly qualified Programmer Junior to support the Readjustment Counseling Service (RCS) Data Services. Vet Centers, managed by the Veterans Health Administration Readjustment Counseling Service (RCS), are uniquely positioned in communities across the country, outside of and separate from VA Medical Centers, and focus on reducing barriers to care. Vet Centers are community-based counseling centers that provide a wide range of social and psychological services, including professional readjustment counseling to eligible Veterans, active-duty service members, including National Guard and Reserve components, and their families. Readjustment counseling is offered to make a successful transition from military to civilian life or after a traumatic event experienced in the military. Individual, group, marriage, and family counseling are offered in addition to referral and connection to other VA or community benefits and services. Confidential readjustment counseling services are provided at 300 Vet Centers, 83 mobile Vet Centers, numerous outstations, and community access points as well as 24/7 through the Vet Center Call Center. The National Service Support (NSS) section of the Readjustment Counseling Service (RCS) requires support for the Data Section. RCS has its own in-house developed record keeping system (RCSNet).
Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Performs tasks related to developing and modifying web-based applications, client-server applications and/or OS scripts for process automation, using skill and knowledge of application development in a Relational Database Management System or Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Implement and integrate commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software into existing architecture; planning, documenting, coding, modifying, testing, and implementing computer programs; documenting test conditions, creating test data, testing programs, and analyzing results.
- Perform analysis of program and production problems; and using a Systems Development Methodology.
