Job Description
Summary:
Yorktown Systems Group is seeking a qualified SRD (OT) Small Arms Ammunition Capability Developer Manager to support the U.S. Army Futures Command (AFC), Futures and Concepts Center (FCC), Maneuver Capabilities Development and Integration Directorate (MCDID) with capabilities development support services. MCDID performs key roles in the Joint Capability Integration and Development System (JCIDS) process with a focus on maneuver force transformation. MCDID leads the assessment of maneuver capabilities to identify gaps and develop integrated Doctrine, Organization, Training, materiel, Leadership and Education, Personnel, Facilities, and Policy (DOTMLPF-P) requirements to resolve or mitigate those gaps. They support the JCIDS Capability Based Assessment (CBA) by providing the identification of needs, combining joint concepts with analysis, and are responsible for the management of operational architectures. It leads the determination of maneuver force requirements, recommending priorities, documenting changes, and providing supporting analysis. These requirements result from JCIDS, Urgent Needs Statements, Operational Needs Statements, operational lessons learned, and senior leadership decisions to bring future capabilities into the force. They participate in Integrated Capability Development Teams (ICDT) to develop the necessary products associated with the JCIDS analysis and documentation requirements.
Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the capability solutions associated with current, developmental, and future small caliber ammunition that includes, but not limited to, .22 Caliber to .50 Caliber to include 12 Gauge and 40mm High Velocity and 40mm Low Velocity.
- Execute the full range of CAPDEV duties, to include writing / staffing small caliber Capability Production Documents as well as executing program support for One Way Luminescence, Reduced Range Training Ammunition, and Lightweight Small Caliber Ammunition programs as well as 40mm Low Velocity (LV) ammunition efforts, which are compatible with the M320 and M203 Grenade Launchers, and 40mm High Velocity (HV) ammunition efforts, which is compatible with the Mk19 GMG.
- Provide support to other ammunition, and LB project officers and programs as required.
- Support the development, writing, staffing, and adjudication of JCIDS documentation to include CBAs, ICDs, C-BAs, AoA, DCRs, CDDs, and CPDs.
- Support requirement process to the AROC and JROC briefings and information requests for IBCT, SBCT, ABCT, programs and future technologies applicable to the BCT formations.
- Assist with other capability development, doctrine, training and architecture development tasks including: the preparation of draft TTP; threat assessments, development and execution of training plans, and BOIP.
- Identify key SA weapon and enabler Science and Technology efforts underway in Government and Industry that offer potential future solutions within their specific portfolio; serves as the liaison between the Joint Service Small Arms Program (which integrates S&T efforts from all the Services) and the MCoE; Initiates development of far term (10 years in the future) requirement documents using potential, yet unproven, technologies.
- Prepare MCoE Industry Day presentation slides to share Soldier requirements with industry and provide an opportunity for industry to present potential solutions to Soldier requirements.
- Participate in the MCoE Maneuver Conference to acquire first-hand information from the field.
- Assist SD in preparing updates, briefings, memorandums, information papers and other administrative requirements.
