Brief Description / Position Summary
The Fall Play Director will supervise students during practices, set builds, and performances. The director supervises students in planning and executing events throughout the fall and meets with students daily from the beginning of September through the first week in November to prepare the set and practice the performance of the selected play for the year. The sponsor will work with the students to create the sets as well as shop for all necessary supplies that will be needed for the play set.
SKILLS: Organizational skills and initiative for working with minimal direct supervision. Must show evidence of strong leadership and organizational skills.
KNOWLEDGE: Previous successful experience in sponsorship/mentoring preferred. Substantial knowledge in the area of student support, as well as familiarity with student discipline and safety protocols.
ABILITY: Establish and maintain positive and supportive working relationships with all stakeholders to be flexible and change as needed.
Stipend Range: $4,126-$6,913 (at .5 FTE) Based on experience

- Selection of a play, this process begins directly after the conclusion of the current year performance. Ongoing cycle.
- Production Planning and recruit additional adult assistance if needed for set builds.
- Follow all district guidelines for all volunteers
- Organize and hold auditions.
- Coordinate design, ordering and distribution of cast and crew shirts
- Design and create programs
- Monitor all costume and prop acquisition and approval.
- Supervise all crew work.
- Coordinate set up and tear down times with custodial crew and staff.
- Account for all money for ticket sales.
- Submit check requests to pay bills
- Strike set after production
- Maintain an accurate collection of costumes, props, and set piece collection and move them to storage after the show.
- Maintain a safe and orderly staging area in accordance with local and state fire code. Assists with writing college letters of recommendation for students per their request. Maintains a variety of documents including club's activity account budget, as applicable
- Communicates all student achievements and accomplishments within the program to the activity director in a timely fashion so that they can be highlighted in parent/staff and student communication.
