Stamping Press Operator

Tier-one automotive supplier of metal stamped parts is seeking an experienced Press Operator.

Qualified candidates must have at least 1 year of experience operating a metal stamping press. The operator is required to load coils of steel into a 1200 ton blanking press and connect the material into the feeder of the press without miss-hits or die damage. Must be able to check parts for quality and also identify problems with the die and/or material during the operation.

Ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast paced, high stress environment, and maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Follow all safety rules and guidelines including but not limited to PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, etc.).
• Run production on stamping press.
• Ability to accurately report hourly production totals.
• Set up dies.
• Set up coils.
• Detect and report defective material.
• Check parts in process as directed by work instructions.
• Fills out part identification tags correctly.
• Required to run at the prescribed set up rate.
• Move parts using pallet jacks or forklifts.
• Operate overhead crane.
• Identify and document downtime correctly
• Identify and document scrap correctly.
• Accurately enter correct parameters into press equipment during set up.
• Train other operators as needed.
• Press set up for shift changeover.
• Coil changes or when needed to work out problems during a run.
• Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the work area.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.50 per hour based on experience
