What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct Online Psychology Instructor position at Yosemite Community College District?
The Hourly Range: $58.21 – $93.06
Doctorate Range: $68.60 to 95.51
Personnel new to the District are limited to a maximum 10th step placement based on previous experience: $90.37.
Not Eligible for Benefits:
With the exception of Workers’ Compensation coverage, not eligible to participate in the District’s benefit programs.
Scope of Assignment
Under the general supervision of the discipline Division Dean, will teach online Psychology courses in accordance with course descriptions and outlines; evaluate progress of student; advise students concerning educational matters, and perform other instructional related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in Psychology OR Bachelor’s degree in Psychology AND Master’s degree in Counseling, Sociology, Statistics, Neuroscience, Social Work, OR the equivalent

Desirable Qualifications
Possession of a current online teaching certificate from a recognized online instruction program such as @ONE (onefortraining.org), the Online Learning Consortium (onlinelearningconsortium.org), or equivalent.
Previous successful experience teaching lower-division online Psychology courses.
Experience using the Canvas Learning Management System.
Desirable Professional Characteristics
Sensitivity to issues concerning student equity in the online classroom. Participation in scholarly research in the field of General Psychology, Social Psychology, Human Development, or Human Sexuality.
Example of Duties
Teach lower division college courses in General Psychology, Social Psychology, Human Development, and/or Human Sexuality; preparation of original online materials; grading student work; maintaining an engaging and interactive online environment, and facilitating regular and effective contact, per the California Community College Chancellor’s Office Distance Education Guidelines (http://extranet.cccco.edu/Divisions/AcademicAffairs/EducationalProgramsandProfessionalDevelopment/DistanceEducation.aspx)
