Position Information
Job Title : District Director of Public Affairs - Public Affairs / Chancellor's Office - Central Services
Site : Yosemite Community College District / Central Services
Salary Range : Management Salary Schedule (2024-2025) Range 35 : $8,628 to $10,972 monthly or $8,873 to $11,217 monthly with an earned Doctorate.
The District currently pays for health options for the employee and dependents. Vision care and dental insurance premiums for the employee and dependents are also District paid. The estimated cost of District provided benefits (health, dental, vision, and life) is $24,408 annually.
Position Summary Information
DEFINITION : Under general administrative direction, plans, directs, and oversees the activities and operations of the District’s Public Affairs office that incorporates public information / communication, media, legislative and community relations, marketing and other special projects; provides leadership in areas related to communications with various constituencies and the public.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED : Receives general administrative direction from the District Chancellor. Provides direct supervision to professional and other administrative support staff, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience :
- Education : Equivalent to possession of a Baccalaureate Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience : Four years of increasingly responsible community relations / public information experience in a governmental setting with legislative and intergovernmental experience or in a position with significant responsibility with contacts with the private sector and / or government.
