Yosemite Pathology (YP) is a private independent pathologist owned and operated surgical pathology and cytology laboratory based in Modesto, CA. YP provides comprehensive state of the art, reliable, and accurate diagnostic services to its physicians and major area hospitals in the Alameda, Amador, Calaveras, Contra Costa, Kern, Mariposa, Merced, San Joaquin, Solano, Stanislaus and Tuolumne counties.
YP offers a full spectrum of tissue pathology, cytology and histology services, including examination of gynecologic specimens, body fluids and fine needle aspiration specimens. We also offer an extensive array of special stains and immunohistochemistry to assist in the management of oncologic and non-oncologic diseases. The laboratory is supported by highly qualified Histotechnologist, Cytotechnologist, Technicians and office staff who offer excellent service.
Summary/Objective
The Quality Assurance (Q.A.) Secretary supports the Quality Assurance Committee by gathering data for review and statistical reporting. They are also responsible for maintaining accurate, well-organized records of the Committee's findings, statistical reports, and meeting minutes.
Essential Functions

Develop and oversee the quality assurance program for Yosemite Pathology, covering outpatient facilities and hospitals, including:
- Adventist Health Bakersfield, Kaweah, Merced, Adventist Health Sonora, Oak Valley, and Mark Twain
- Conduct routine audits of reports, including frozen section procedures, FNA, and external consultations.
- Prepare external consultations for quarterly review by the Q.A. Committee.
- Review all amended/addendum cases, frozen sections, FNAs, and external consultations.
- Present findings to the Q.A. Committee on a quarterly basis.
- Perform audits of pathology reports, including Synoptic, Random, and Quarterly Statistical Reporting.
- Conduct focused studies requested by the Q.A. Committee, including FPPE.
- Organize, conduct, and document second-review pathology case sampling, maintaining records of findings.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for hospital and Q.A. Committee.
- Coordinate and prepare Quality Assurance Meetings, including agenda distribution, meeting packets, minutes, statistical reports, and other required materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements and Skills
- High School Diploma or Associates Degree preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in a similar work setting preferred
- Medical terminology
- Type 60 wpm
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism
- Work effectively with staff, clients, and patients
Compensation and Benefits:
- The compensation range is $50,000 - 70,000 annually (non-exempt) paid semi-monthly on an eight (8) hour per day, forty (40) hour per week. Final salary offer subject to multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, geographic location of the role, and current market data.

Work Environment
This position operates in an office environment and involves frequent time spent at a desk using a computer. This position works individually, as well as with peers and supervisors frequently.
