Yosemite Valley Charter School & Monarch River Academy are tuition-free, public charter schools serving transitional kindergarten through 12th-grade students in Fresno, San Benito, Merced, Madera, Mono, Monterey, Tulare, Kern, Kings, and Inyo Counties. Virtual Independent Study Teachers create a rigorous, relevant, and nurturing virtual classroom environment that prioritizes student learning and social-emotional development. In addition, the teacher will perform as an instructional specialist in an assigned teaching position. Working collaboratively with other staff members, the teacher will plan, carry out, and evaluate the instructional activities for groups and individual students, for assigned classes and subject areas. With administrative assistance and cooperation, the teacher will provide a learning environment that allows for individual differences and respect for the dignity and worth of each individual student.
The recruitment process for this position will include a paper screening, a scored questionnaire, a virtual structured interview, a virtual Lesson Plan presentation, and an in-person group interview. You must successfully complete each phase in order to be considered for the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid California Teaching Credential
CLAD or ELA Authorization
Reside in a county that we serve (Fresno, San Benito, Merced, Madera, Mono, Monterey, Tulare, Inyo, Kern & Kings Counties)
