POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: This position is highly collaborative working across multiple departments. This position works directly with the Finance team, providing actionable insights in the form of reports and analysis. The Business Analyst analyzes sales and transactions trends, food, labor, and other costs and their respective drivers to help Operations achieve their financial and operational targets.
Essential Functions:
- Helps troubleshoot and resolve common data accuracy issues with financial reporting and systems and makes recommendations to resolve them
- Coordinates the preparation and presentation of regional financial plans and interprets trends and financial results of the regions.
- Supports the development of the annual operating plan, monthly financial forecast
- Uses various business models to develop projections for long-term analysis based on market conditions
- Provides analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to senior management and restaurant operations
- Critically analyzes point-of-sales data to develop fact-based conclusions and presents articulated findings to leadership and board of directors
- Produces & enhances monthly reporting processes, which include key metrics, financial results, and variance reporting to support strategic decision making
- Projects & analyzes key metrics, such as prime costs (food and labor), and operating expenses (utilities, facilities maintenance, etc.)
- Provides analysis to Menu Marketing team as well as Culinary for the menu mix trends by category on a weekly, monthly as well as overall menu rollout performance
- Assist marketing with LTO forecasts and provide performance analyses post-implementation
- Analyze transaction level sales data to identify business trends and incremental sales opportunities
Competencies & Skills:
- Exceptionally strong Excel modeling skills, with experience with VBA, Power Pivot, Power Query, and complex formulas to navigate through millions of lines of data
- Experience with automating data collection from various native data sources and tables
- Experience with data analytics such as demographics, competitors, industry, and real estate trends, etc.
- Organized and highly detail-oriented; accustomed to allocating time to double-check work.
- Ability to think commercially about the needs and requirements of different client groups, including investment management firms, brokers, and lenders.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and deliver results with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work effectively both as an individual and as part of a team is a must.
- Ability to work cross functionality between multiple departments
- Ability to simplify and effectively communicate complex ideas in writing and through data visualization techniques to diverse audiences

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The Business Analyst typically works in an office environment, and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties, except for travel to the store locations when needed. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. Financial Analyst may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday.
When visiting Restaurant locations, the employee will be exposed to distracting noises and sound levels from cooktops, hot temperatures from fryers and grills, sharp utensils and equipment, wet flooring, and cold temperatures when dealing with walk in coolers/freezer. Restaurant kitchens are often small spaces, they may work near others, while maintaining social distancing. The outside environment will vary dependent upon the weather.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While at the Support Center, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle, or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
When visiting Restaurant locations, the Business Analyst could be required to stand/sit/walk for long periods of time, along with frequent bending, kneeling, lifting (handling food, trays, cups, lids, straws, cleaning supplies, and handling waste), carrying (generally under 10 lbs.), balancing, pulling, pushing, crouching, stooping, reaching, crawling, twisting, eye hand and foot coordination, neck flexion, and neck twisting.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, computer science, Information Systems, Finance or Business with 3-5 years of relevant experience in technology and ERP systems in Consumer Goods industry, or equivalent
- Strong data analytical abilities with hands-on experience
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Excellent troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and process improvement
- Three years prior experience in a similar position
- Must be proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
· Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) a plus
- Financial analysis: 2 years (Preferred)
- Microsoft Excel: 2 years (Preferred)
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS:
· Previous experience in multi-unit restaurant industry is a must, preferably in Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) concepts
