What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender position at Youche Country Club?
The Bartender will prepare and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, as well as items from our signature menu. You will oversee the stock of liquor and bar supplies and collect money or member numbers for drinks served.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Receive orders from patrons and waitstaff
- Prepare and serve liquor, mixed drinks, wine, beer, and nonalcoholic drinks as ordered
- Ensure that fruit and other garnishes are prepared ahead of the opening of the bar
- Maintain the bar and keep it clean and organized
- Attractively display glasses and liquor bottles
- Keeps bar supplied with snacks, if any
- Keep popcorn made/ and clean popcorn machine
- Ensure that patrons are of legal drinking age by checking photo IDs
- Serves food and drinks to all bar guests
- Relays food orders to kitchen via the point-of-sale computerized register system
- Seize upon every opportunity to upsell, making friendly recommendations to our members
- Use proper judgment and, when necessary, refuse service to patrons who are intoxicated or disruptive
- Submit orders or create requisition forms for liquor, beer, and other bar-related supplies
- Completes assigned opening and closing side work
- All other job duties assigned by a Manager to ensure the effective and orderly operations of the clubhouse
- Must be willing to work outside at the pool, halfway house, a course bar, banquet bar, or any other area that we decided a bartender is needed
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age, legal drinking/serving age
- Extensive knowledge of drink preparation or service
- availability to work weekends and holidays
- Excellent interpersonal skills and focus on serving customers
- Ability to remain calm when dealing with unruly and argumentative patrons
- Able to operate blenders, frozen drink machines and other bar equipment
Education and Experience:
- Completion of mixology, barkeeping, or other related training preferred
- At least one year of related experience
- Indiana Liquor permit required
- Reading, writing, basic math and verbal communication skills required
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and preparing drinks
- Ability to complete orders quickly and accurately
- Transports up to 25 pounds (such as a case of beer) up to 15 times per shift
Salary
- Hourly plus tips
