The Department of Music at Young Harris College seeks a dynamic musician-educator to fill a full-time faculty position in Instrumental Music Education starting August 2025. Teaching responsibilities include (1) teaching music classes that match the candidate's qualifications, background, and interests as well as the needs of the Department of Music and (2) directing the Pep Band. The faculty member is expected to be proactive in recruiting outstanding students to the music program and to maintain active and collaborative relationships with public school and community band programs throughout the state of Georgia and beyond. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of musicianship, knowledge of band repertoire, the ability to teach instrumental methods courses and a strong commitment to music education. Qualifications include a master's degree in music or music education, public school teaching experience and a strong commitment to teaching in a liberal arts undergraduate curriculum; rank is negotiable relative to qualifications and experience.
