IT Product Owner - Commissions

Summary:
The Product Owner is responsible for executing the monthly commissions and roadmap initiatives provided by the digital product manager. The product owner distills product requirements based on the high-level requirements and business rules provided by the digital product manager and stakeholders. These requirements are refined into stories to be consumed by the development team through Agile practices.

Essential Functions:

• Under the direction of the Product Manager, lead the development and execution of the product roadmap, aligning with business objectives and market trends.

• Act as the day-to-day point of contact between business stakeholders and the IT development team.

• Prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring that high-value features are delivered in a timely manner.

• Work closely with the Commissions team to successfully deliver monthly commissions.

• Work closely with stakeholders and leadership to execute long-term product strategies.

• Drive continuous improvement in product development by analyzing feedback and performance metrics.

• Lead high-impact projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope.

Commissions-specific Skills and Qualifications

• Strong Understanding of Unilevel Commission Structures: Must have a thorough understanding of unilevel commission models, including the payout structure, depth levels, and overrides typical in network marketing.

• Experience with Commission Run Cycles: Proven experience managing or overseeing regular unilevel commission runs (weekly, monthly, etc.), ensuring accurate and timely payouts.

• Quick Root Cause Analysis for Data Cleanup: Ability to perform rapid root cause analysis to identify data issues impacting commission payouts. Must be adept at collaborating with IT and data teams to resolve inconsistencies and clean up data efficiently.

• Knowledge of Commission Software Platforms: Familiarity with commission processing platforms (e.g., Exigo is ideal) used in network marketing, and ability to troubleshoot or work with technical teams to address commission-impacting issues.

• Data Analysis for Commission Accuracy: Strong skills in analyzing commission-related data to ensure accuracy and identify trends or discrepancies. Ability to resolve payout issues through data corrections.

• Problem-Solving in Commission Discrepancies: Proven ability to quickly troubleshoot commission discrepancies, working cross-functionally with IT, finance, and data teams to resolve payout issues.

• Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Experience collaborating with finance, IT, and operations teams to ensure clean data flow, accurate commission calculations, and timely payouts.

• Documentation and Communication Skills: Ability to clearly document commission processes, data cleanup efforts, and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders

• Net Calculations Including Tax, Clawbacks, Donations, and Other Withholdings: Ability to manage and calculate net commissions, considering tax withholdings, clawbacks, donations, and other relevant deductions or adjustments.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree Information Technology, Business, or related field preferred.

• 5 years of specific Multi Level Marketing commission experience. Experience with YL’s commission structure preferred.

• Experienced with working with agile processes and development teams.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Willingness to become an agile certified professional (CSM, PSM, PMI_ACP, SAFe, etc.)

Supervisory Responsibility:

This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as a laptop, desktop, smartphone, and photocopiers. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Essential oils are worn and/or diffused in the work environment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This position requires the incumbent to be physically present at the assigned worksite. The regular schedule is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with an hour lunch, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Employees are also expected to work at least one non-convention farm event a year and to work at the annual company convention.

Exact hour requirements can be reasonably modified as necessary for the business needs by the employee’s manager.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities of this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to type, file, and occasionally lift office supplies up to 20 pounds. The employee must be physically able to tolerate the scent of essential oils worn or diffused.
