Summary:
The Quality Assurance Team Lead I is responsible for overseeing day-to-day quality operations, managing product inspection and documentation, and supporting compliance with Part 111 and international quality standards. This role includes direct supervision of QA production and warehouse staff, helping to maintain accurate and thorough documentation to meet regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Implement Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) to maintain compliance with Part 111.
- Supervise daily activities of QA production/warehouse staff, ensuring smooth workflow and regulatory adherence.
- Oversee product sampling, testing, and documentation for quality verification.
- Support Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA) initiatives and assist with internal audits.
- Partner with other departments to support quality systems and address compliance-related matters.
- Track and report quality-related metrics to management.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Strong communication, relationship management, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, quality management systems, and basic regulatory standards.
- Working knowledge of quality inspection tools (scales, electric pallet jack, etc.).
Required Education and Experience:
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2-4 years in a quality assurance environment, with some supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience with FDA regulations and familiarity with dietary supplement or food/cosmetic regulations.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Certification in Quality Management (e.g., Internal Auditor Training, GMP-related certifications).

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as a laptop, desktop, smartphone, and photocopiers. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Essential oils are worn and/or diffused in the work environment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This position requires the incumbent to be physically present at the assigned worksite. The regular schedule is from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Employees are also expected to work at least one non-convention farm event a year and to work at the annual company convention.
Exact hour requirements can be reasonably modified as necessary for the business needs by the employee’s manager.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities of this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to type, file, and occasionally lift office supplies up to 20 pounds. The employee must be physically able to tolerate the scent of essential oils worn or diffused.
