ob Summary:
The Business Analytics & Financial Reporting team is seeking a Data Scientist/Analyst, who will be responsible for building and enhancing business intelligence tools to provide key insights to the Southern Company Gas Engineering & Construction organization. In this fast-paced role, they will leverage their technical skills to compile data sets, create robust data models, automate processes, and build visualizations.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze large volumes of data including multiple databases and tables
- Develop and maintain dashboards to communicate insights to the business
- Conduct data research; identify and resolve discrepancies
- Identify data quality issues; develop and implement solutions
- Conduct ad hoc analysis
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work on a team and independently
- Working knowledge of data models and ETL processes
- 3 years of experience writing SQL queries using joins and unions (Oracle SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio)
- Extensive experience using business intelligence and data visualization tools, including Power BI and Power Query
- Some knowledge of Python is preferred- Collect, analyze, and interpret complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
