What are the responsibilities and job description for the Space Planner position at Young Management & Consulting?
➢ Job Duties:
- Assists with developing conceptual designs for architectural solutions based upon defined programs, as a basis for finished drawings for general building facilities.
- Assists with field surveys and “as-built” investigations, including architectural and electrical disciplines, to ensure accurate layouts.
Provide support with project close out documentation and management of project data bases. Assists with specifying project materials, furniture, fixtures, and equipment and assists in the
review of technical evaluations of material quotations to ascertain conformance with
specifications and project objectives.
- Assists with managing Moves, Adds, Changes (MAC) process.
- Assists with managing drawing data base and updates drawings based upon changes made
through the MAC process and project management process.
- Coordinates the work of assigned drafters, lower-level designers, and consultants in the
development of architectural project plans.
- Assists in the development and updates of Facilities office standards manual, space guideline
policies and procedures and space finish schedules.
- Timely completion of design assignments to meet established in-service dates.
- Proper coordination of design assignments with other areas of the Company, outside
consultants, vendors, and contractors.
➢ Technical Knowledge and Skills:
- Requires extensive knowledge of interior and architectural design, computer aided design and drafting systems, commercial office furniture
- Ability to oversee multiple projects
➢ Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting, interior and architectural design, space planning, drafting or related fields
➢ Experience:
- Lead Space Planner: 7 years of professional experience, including interior design and space
planning for commercial offices
- Senior Space planner: 5-7 years of experience
- Space Planner: 3-5 years of experience
