What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welcome Center Staff - Caldwell YMCA position at YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF BOISE IDAHO INC?
The Caldwell YMCA opened its doors on October 27, 2005. Since that time, it has become a hallmark of the community, impacting the lives of thousands of kids and families. Facility amenities include a large cardio and weight floor, full-court basketball gym, three fitness studios, and a state-of-the-art aquatics center including a lap-pool, splash pad, pretzel slide, and lazy-river.
The Welcome Center Staff is responsible for creating a friendly, helpful, welcoming atmosphere for everyone as they enter the Y.
Responsibilities:
- Develop intentional relationships and engage members to deepen their relationship to the Y Cause and support them in meeting the seven Cause Measurement goals.
- Serve as a point of contact for members, staff, volunteers, vendors, and guests, providing accurate information about Y programs, membership, financial assistance, policies, etc., using the Y voice attributes and discretion.
- Assist in connecting them to appropriate Y staff and programs.
- Use databases and software to create memberships, complete program registration, update member information, and check-in members and guests, maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
- Perform financial transactions accurately and maintain a balanced till.
- Resolve member concerns, resolve conflicts within scope of position, address safety concerns, and follow cancellation-save procedures.
- Offer financial assistance in response to program and membership inquiries.
- Field and resolve membership concerns and inform supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Bi-Lingual encouraged/preferred.
- Previous customer service, sales, or related experience.
- Basic computer and office skills.
- Must be able to engage others in conversations and make all people feel welcome.
- Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations.
- Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others.
Schedule:
This is a part-time position averaging 20-25 hours weekly. Schedule requirements are typically Monday through Friday, 11:00am-3:00pm, other days and times may be needed.
