What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cecil YMCA Homeschool PE Instructor position at Young Men's Christian Association of the Chesapeake, Inc?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Instructor will use the CATCH PE program provided by the YMCA. CATCH PE provides physical education lessons to teach lifelong movement skills which blend fun and fitness. In addition, the instructor will teach various sports and team building skills while providing a quality experience to children that focuses on the YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Lead children ages 5-14 through the CATCH PE curriculum. Engage children in activities and games.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have general knowledge of seasonal sports.
Must be able to provide transportation to and from YMCA and be on time for class, meetings, and trainings.
At least 18 years of age.
CPR, First Aid, AED certifications within 30 days of hire date is preferred.
Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift up to 20lbs, bend, stand, sit, walk, crawl for extended periods of time.
