Job Summary:
Supervise in the general function of the before and after school program. The teacher is responsible in supervising of the children, and facilitating in the appropriate activities of the program to meet the needs of each child.

While performing the duties of this job, staff members are regularly required to talk or hear. The staff member frequently is required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The staff member is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The staff member must occasionally lift and/or move more than 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Qualifications:
- Meet the Maryland Child Care Administrations educational requirements.
- CPR/First Certified
Job Specifications:
Education: High School diploma or equivalency.
Experience: Working with school aged children
Essential Function:
- Be present at least 50% of the normal operating time on all days.
- Supervise the staff.
- Plan and supervise of all aspects of the program.
- Communicate with staff, parents, and children.
- Keep files of children’s information.
- Record of daily attendance.
- Inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Complete weekly menu for snacks, and post in appropriate place.
- See that personal belongings of the children are put in the proper place when arriving.
- Serve snacks.
- Organize and participate in activities with children.
- Maintain discipline at all times.
- Assist children with homework.
- Make sure room is restored to order before leaving.
- Conduct fire drills.
- Follow all procedure of the YMCA of Cecil County
- Perform all other duties assigned.
