POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Fitness Floor Attendant at Shawnee Family YMCA serves others by intentionally welcoming, connecting, and supporting them and inviting them to get involved and give back to the community. Educate and enforce operational guidelines and regulations with all members. Maintain all weight training equipment and keep facilities organized and clean.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Creates a safe environment in which all individuals feel welcomed and respected; build relationships with and among members and program participants.
- Demonstrates Character Development values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all decision making, member and staff interactions, meetings, etc.
- Shares wellness program information with members, using available tools and resources (e.g., handouts, schedules).
- Monitor Wellness area and meet/great members cheerfully.
- Ensure members are following proper Wellness Center procedures.
- Assist participants while they are using the facilities and circulate every hour.
- Personal workouts are encouraged but must be scheduled during off duty hours.
- Maintain a neat and clean Wellness Center by performing all outlined cleaning duties and addressing any areas that need immediate attention. Responsible for care, returning and storage of all equipment. Fills all bottles and changes towels as needed. Records all maintenance duties in proper log and place notice on equipment needing attention.
- Report all member concerns to Health & Wellness Director/Coordinator.
- Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required.
- Bloodborne Pathogens and Child Abuse Prevention training required within 30 days of hire.
- Must possess skills and knowledge or have the capability and the willingness to learn the skills necessary to provide exercise leadership and instruction in the Wellness Center.

- The Wellness Center is a member service, members and guests must be top priority during your scheduled shift.

DRESS CODE:
- Proper footwear, closed toe athletic sneakers must be worn at all times.
- Attire must be professional and neat, staff shirt and appropriate workout pants or shorts.
