POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Association Membership Director leads all membership initiatives across the association. Committed to our purpose of connecting people to their potential and community, this position develops highly effective recruiting and retention strategies for the organization, while ensuring their implementation and success in the branches. This role collaborates with leaders at all levels of the association and fosters an environment of innovation and forward thinking to drive results.

JOB LOCATION:  Association Office at the Wellmark YMCA  
HOURS/DAYS SCHEDULE: Standard work week, but will work evening and/or weekend to accommodate activities and events. 
SALARY RANGE: $58,000 - $64,000 annualized
CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS: March 27, 2025 - Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Develops and executes, in concurrence with the Vice President of Operations, a comprehensive, multi-level and integrated membership recruitment and retention plan, and programs to support the strategic objectives of the organization.
2. Develops and directs high quality relationship-based member engagement strategies. 
3. Provides recommendations for recruitment and retention strategies based on trends.
4. Ensures standard operating procedures (SOPs) are written and kept up to date for all membership department tasks and functions and identifies gaps.
5. Works to ensure the membership value proposition and messages are relevant and compelling across all membership segments and other key demographics.
6. Tracks and organizes branch membership team tasks and deadlines, keeping campaigns on track and organized.
7. Coordinates meetings, prepares meeting materials.
8. Prepares weekly and monthly reports and analytical information for distribution to appropriate people including staff, committees, and senior leaders.
9. Leads preparation of the membership team budgets in conjunction with branch leadership staff. 
10. Develops and implements strategies for creation and roll out of member communications, marketing materials, and surveys / feedback.
11. Develops and implements Welcome Center strategies for customer service.
12. Develops and implements strategies to develop and maximize 3rd party membership partnerships and opportunities.
13. Represents and promotes the YMCA with members and in the community, and  develops and expands relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities.
14. Distribute membership materials to potential members and spearhead membership sales.
15. Work with the Association Marketing Team on planning, content creation, and execution of membership materials, communications, and electronic media. 
16. Participates in the training and the development of key membership leaders at the branch level.
17. Conducts research as directed by YMCA Leadership on special projects which may benefit membership initiatives and the association. 
18. Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisor or designated staff person.
19. Demonstrates and supports the objectives of the Association as embodied in the mission statement and values.

Salary : $58,000 - $64,000
