JOB LOCATION: Various locations in the Des Moines Metro
VARIOUS SHIFTS: During School Year: Monday-Friday 2:30pm-7:00pm and occasionally nights and Saturdays; Summer: Monday-Friday various hours;
PAY RANGE: $27.50-$30.00 /hour
CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS: March 5, 2025 - Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Operating within the policies, procedures, and practices of the YMCA of Greater Des Moines, this position is responsible for providing safe transportation for staff and program participants.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Transport program participants as directed by YMCA Director.
- Perform required safety procedures.
- Know emergency procedures & be able to demonstrate & act on them during emergency situations.
- Follow traffic laws and state and federal transit regulations.
- Carefully navigate roads and watch for ice, debris, or slippery spots.
- Maintain order among passengers and enforce rules of conduct according to YMCA procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on assigned vehicle.
- Attend department and Branch staff meetings as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or designated staff person.
- Demonstrate and support the objectives of the Association as embodied in the mission statement and values.
Salary : $28 - $30
