- Minimum age of 21 years
- Have documented experience in horse care, equestrian instruction, group leadership, and camp programming
- Ability to work closely with and supervise a small group of staff
- Ability to learn, teach and implement Equestrian Program curriculum
- Ability to accept guidance and supervision
- Ensure safety of all participants, staff and horses
- Ability to demonstrate enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, self-control, maturity, responsibility, sound judgment, and good decision-making skills
- Be of good character, and in sympathy with the goals and objectives of YMCA Camp Piomingo
- Assist in leading staff training for the Equestrian Staff Pass a background check
