POSITION SUMMARY
The Instructor, Dance working as part of Family Programs Team, will deliver professional customer service and relationship building skills to create a welcoming environment at the YMCA of Metropolitan Denver. The instructor will be responsible for teaching scheduled dance classes for youth and/or adult. The incumbent will also exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all aspects of their work with the YMCA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Serve as an instructor of dance classes
- Instructors are expected to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to class and stay 10-15 minutes after to arrange equipment, clean up, complete appropriate record keeping, read notices and visit with participants and parents.
- When unable to instruct a particular class, instructors will find a substitute for their class, and inform the supervisor in writing of the substitution.
- The instructor is responsible for the proper care of any equipment for that class and reporting the need for repairs to their supervisor.
- Follow and enforce all YMCA procedures and policies, including personnel guidelines, safety guidelines, facility access procedures and membership policies.
- Carry out emergency plans as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe YMCA. Take initiative to clean up/repair areas.
- Attend and remain current on all mandatory training and staff meetings.
- Be knowledgeable and supportive of the YMCA annual support campaign.

Qualifications & Benefits
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching various types of dance; or dance experience with the expectation to shadow an instructor for 1 session.
- CPR- First Aid Certification
- Experience working with children.
