POSITION SUMMARY
The Instructor, Group Exercise, working as part of the Health and Wellbeing Team, will deliver world-class customer service and use relationship building skills to create a welcoming environment at the YMCA. The instructor will lead aerobic and conditioning classes under the general guidance of the Director Health and Wellbeing, consistent with the philosophy, policies and purpose of the YMCA of Metropolitan Denver. The incumbent will also exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all aspects of their work with the YMCA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Serve as an instructor forfitnessclasses
- When unable to instruct a particular class, instructors will find a substitute for theirclass, and inform the supervisor in writing of the substitution
- Theinstructoris responsible forthe proper care of any equipment used inclass andreporting the need for repairs to their supervisorpromptly
- Certified as a YMCA Exercise Instructor, you are encouraged toparticipatein any training workshops that pertain to the field
- Beprepared withappropriate dressandappropriate music
- Ensure the safety and enjoyment of all members and guests in our facility
- Identifyleaders for recruitment of volunteers/staff
- Attend all training courses, staff meetings and in-services without exception
- Be knowledgeable and supportive of the YMCA annual support campaign, and general procedures and policies, including personnel guidelines, facility access procedures, membership policies, and emergency plans

QUALIFICATIONS
- ObtainYMCA Orientation to Healthy Living within90 daysof hireviaonline course.
- Must haveYMCA Instructor Training or one of the approved National Certificationsatleast104 hoursof documented teaching experience.
- Current CPR certification and Standard First Aid certification
