POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Childcare Coordinator, the Site Director will be responsible for the overall management and supervision of a site and the direct
supervision of the support staff at that site. Site director will also be responsible for the supervision of appropriate staff to child ratio between the ages of 3 and 14.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.
- Complete required abuse risk management training.
- Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers.
- Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
- Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
- Supervise Child Care Counselors.
- Provide direction and motivation to all site staff. Children must always be in the presence of staff.
- Promote the YMCA Character Development Initiative.
- Communicate effectively with parents, facility officials, and fellow workers.
- Document attendance and maintain intake/emergency information on each child.
- Have complete knowledge of emergency procedures appropriate for the individual site (as provided by school personnel) to ensure the safety of the children.
- Punctuality and reliability is very important. Must report to work for scheduled shifts.
- Attend all staff meetings and training programs as deemed necessary by your supervisor.
- Maintain the quantity and quality of supplies, equipment and materials.
- Be responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the site.
- Maintain an attitude of professionalism and loyalty.
- Promote YMCA Child Care programs and other related programs.
- Under no circumstances should corporal punishment be used (i.e. hitting, slapping, spanking, grabbing, etc.).
- Submit weekly paperwork to YMCA Ascension St. Vincent office by Monday 10:00 am.
- Pick up required paperwork and snacks for the following week at the Ascension St. Vincent location.
- Be responsible for the sign in/out sheets and ensure that staff are checking IDs before releasing children.
- This job description is subject to change depending on program needs by the Child Care Coordinators and Child Care Director.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Before and After School Site Directors must be at least 18 years of age and out of high school.
- CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen training required within 60 days of employment.
- Child Abuse Prevention, Bloodborne Pathogen and New Employee Orientation training required before/on first day of working with consumers.
- Adhere to YMCA policies and procedures .
- Will need to be sensitive and mature, able to relate well to both children and adults. Must be fair to all.
- Possess an outgoing personality, be warm and friendly, and have stability for program continuity. Possess leadership and supervision qualities.
- Able to demonstrate creativity with daily planning and activities.
- Have general knowledge of the YMCA’s mission and be able to convey it to the community.
- Willing and able to communicate with parents and facility officials in a positive manner.
Salary : $12 - $14
