The Heart of the Valley YMCA is hiring seasonal early childhood child care staff for our summer Adventure Camps, working with children ages 4-5. Spend your summer both indoors & out, playing games and exploring the community & parks around our Kimberly YMCA. Camp Counselors will assist other staff members with planning & implementation of activities, keeping records, communicating with families & teachers, protecting the health & safety of campers, and most of all, having fun!
Day Camp Lead: Responsible for the day-to-day operation of all day camp procedures, health and welfare of campers, security, and communication with staff and parents. Responsible for providing leadership for the Day Camp Program in both large and small group activities.
This is a full-time position, with trainings starting in late May and children arriving in June, through August 2024.
Applicants who do not obtain these courses are encouraged to apply. The Y can provide coursework & support to complete these requirements.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Completed high school or its equivalency as determined by the DPI.
- Previous experience working with infants and children is preferred.
Lead Teacher Positions Possess one or more of the following or willing to complete within 6-months of hire, in addition to completing Introduction to Child Care Professions:
- Skills and Strategies for the Childcare teacher
- Associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or education-related.
- Teacher registry certificate
