The Neenah-Menasha YMCA is hiring day camp counselors for this summer's Camp T program, held at Memorial Park in Neenah. Spend your summer both indoors and out, exploring nature, playing games, creating art and teaching school age children. This seasonal opportunity is perfect for those who love working with kids, teachers seeking a summer job, college students looking for experience, and anyone who has a passion for children and tons of fun!
Day Camp Lead: Responsible for the day-to-day operation of all day camp procedures, health and welfare of campers, security, and communication with staff and parents. Responsible for providing leadership for the Day Camp Program in both large and small group activities.
Day Camp Assistant: Assist and provide a variety of developmentally appropriate material and activities, which foster social skills and encourages children to think, problem solve, question and experiment. Implements a daily schedule based on developmentally appropriate activities for school aged children.
This is a full- or part-time position, with trainings starting in late May and children arriving in June, through August 2025.
Full-time hours: Monday-Friday, 7:45 AM-4:00 PM
Part time hours: Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM-8:30 AM and 3:00 PM-5:30 PM
Applicants who do not obtain these courses are encouraged to apply. The Y can provide coursework & support to complete these requirements.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Completed high school or its equivalency as determined by the DPI.
- Previous experience working with infants and children is preferred.
Assistant Teacher Positions Possess one or more of following or willing to complete within 6-months of hire:
- Completion of Introduction to Child Care Professions course
- At least 2 credits in early childhood education, qualifying coursework
- Assistant Teacher registry certificate
Lead Teacher Positions Possess one or more of the following or willing to complete within 6-months of hire, in addition to completing Introduction to Child Care Professions:
- Skills and Strategies for the Childcare teacher
- Associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or education-related.
- Teacher registry certificate
