What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Environmental Education Associate (Apple Creek YMCA) position at YOUNG MENS CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF THE FOX...?
As an Environmental Education Associate, you’ll work side-by-side with Environmental Education Instructors in our Outdoor Exploration summer day camps and other summer youth programs at the Apple Creek YMCA and Bruce B. Purdy Nature Preserve. You’ll help teach and lead children ages 3-10 through nature hikes and exploratory activities outdoors, along with games, crafts, and stories indoors. Associates also assist with caretaking duties for various program animals in the Nature Study Classroom and outdoor seasonal projects on the preserve and YMCA grounds.
This is an entry-level, summer only position ideal for people passionate about nature, the environment and being outdoors. Typical hours are 12:30am to 3:30pm, Monday through Thursday.
- Ability and desire to work with children both indoors and outdoors during summer months.
- Knowledge of Wisconsin plants and animals preferred but not required.
- Previous experience working with children preferred but not required.
