Camp Cook (CYN)

POSITION SUMMARY : This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Cook is responsible for prepping, preparing, and serving well-rounded meals each day at camp, ensuring the kitchen and dining hall is clean and organized, communicating with the Program Director on meals, directing kitchen assistants, planning and prepping meals for those with dietary restrictions, and other duties as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS | ABUSE PREVENTION : Upholding the YMCAs commitment to the safety and well-being of youth in our programs is a core responsibility of all staff regardless of position. Attend required abuse risk management training. Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers. Adhere to procedures related to managing and supervising high-risk activities. Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations. Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements. Works with sharp utensils such as knives and other hazardous kitchen tools Noise level is typically moderate but can at times be loud.
