POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, this position is responsible for maintaining a clean, welcoming environment for our staff and members. As part of this team, you allow members and program participants to enjoy a sanitary and secure environment to pursue their health and well-being.
In addition, every position in the YMCA of Coastal Georgia, Inc. is responsible for upholding the Judeo-Christian principles that are central to our mission by modeling behaviors that exemplify the four pillars of character - caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain the branchs cleanliness and safety with a sense of urgency and prioritization (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, etc.)
- Communicate maintenance needs, issues, and recommend solutions to Facilities Manager and Branch Manager
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks of the facilities as a means of preventative maintenance
- Ensure the fulfillment of goods in designated areas, such as paper towels, soap, sanitizer, etc.
- Empty and clean wastebaskets throughout the branch
- Arrange equipment in the custodial storage areas in a neat and orderly manner
- Assist in the overall retention and satisfaction of YMCA members through appropriate customer service
- Assist in the Annual Campaign fundraising program for the YMCA
- Maintain a positive and cheerful attitude with staff, peers, and program participants
- Willingly perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
- Must have the ability to operate cleaning equipment.
- Experience in custodial or maintenance work settings preferred.
- CPR and First Aid required within 30 days of employment.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain authorization to work with children under the Georgia Department of Labor and YMCA guidelines.
