POSITION SUMMARY:
The Recreational Gymnastics Instructor is responsible for the daily operation of the Gymnastics program. Daily functions include facilitation of non-team gymnastics classes.
In addition, every position in the YMCA of Coastal Georgia, Inc. is responsible for upholding the Judeo-Christian principles that are central to our mission by modeling behaviors that exemplify the four pillars of character - caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for planning and facilitating age appropriate group gymnastics classes
- Teaches specific gymnastic movements to class participants
- Maintains safe work environment and ensures the safety of all participants
- Attends required department and individual trainings
- Assist in the overall retention and satisfaction of YMCA members through appropriate customer service
- Assist in the Annual Campaign fundraising program for the YMCA
- Maintain a positive and cheerful attitude with staff, peers, and program participants
- Willingly perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Gymnastics certification or one to two years of gymnastics teaching preferred.
- Must be willing to obtain gymnastics certification within timeframe indicated by manager and maintain certificate during course of employment.
- Sound working knowledge of accepted fitness standards and practices including gymnastic techniques.
- Ability to foster positive staff, peers, and program participants.
- CPR and First Aid required within 30 days of employment.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain authorization to work with children under the Georgia Department of Labor and YMCA guidelines.
