The Raritan Bay Area YMCA is currently looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and motivated Part-Time Zumba Instructor to join our fitness team. This is a part-time on-site role.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic urban, growing organization, just 5 miles west of New York City in the waterfront city of Perth Amboy, NJ. The Raritan Bay Area YMCA has served the ever-evolving needs of our community since 1912. We enthusiastically serve over 6,000 members in the Raritan Bay area in our community building initiatives through Healthy Living, Youth Development, and Social Responsibility.
The Zumba Instructor will lead engaging and high-energy Zumba classes that inspire members to achieve their fitness goals in a fun and inclusive environment. The ideal candidate should be passionate about fitness, have strong communication skills, and create an energetic atmosphere for participants of all fitness levels.
Essential Duties :
- Lead Zumba classes for various skill levels, ensuring a safe and effective workout.
- Motivate and engage participants by demonstrating techniques, providing modifications, and offering encouragement throughout each session.
- Prepare and follow class plans, including selecting appropriate music and choreography that is appropriate for the fitness levels of the participants.
- Provide individualized attention to members and assist with fitness questions or concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized workout space.
- Communicate with the fitness department and members regarding any class changes, updates, or issues.
- Ensure a positive and welcoming environment for all participants, fostering a sense of community.
- Ensure proper use of Raritan Bay Area YMCA fitness equipment during class.
- Maintain certification requirements, including continuing education or renewal of certifications as necessary.
