Job Description:
The Events and Donor Relations Manager is responsible for organizing fundraising events, managing donor relationships, and ensuring smooth logistics for donor engagement efforts. They will oversee all aspects of the organizations fundraising events and donor engagement efforts, ensuring a seamless experience for donors while meeting the organization's financial and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute 15 high-level donor events annually, including one major gala.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, ensuring regular communication and engagement.
- Manage donor databases, maintaining up-to-date records and generating regular reports on fundraising performance.
- Oversee in-kind donations, ensuring proper acknowledgment and tracking.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create event-related materials, invitations, and follow-up communications.
- Manage event budgets, ensuring cost-efficiency without compromising quality.
- Work closely with the Director of Philanthropy to develop and execute donor engagement strategies.
Skills:
- Event Planning & Management: Experience organizing events, from large galas to intimate donor gatherings.- Ability to manage timelines, budgets, and logistics.- Vendor negotiation and contract management.
- Donor Relations: Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with donors.- Experience in creating strategies to engage and steward donors.- Communication skills, both verbal and written, for donor outreach and follow-ups
- Data Management & CRM Systems:Proficiency in using donor management systems like Salesforce, DonorPerfect, or Raiser’s Edge.- Advanced spreadsheet skills (e.g., Excel or Google Sheets) for tracking donations, generating reports, and analyzing donor trends.
- In-kind Donations Management: Ability to solicit, coordinate, and document in-kind contributions.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in Google Drive and other cloud-based collaboration tools.Ability to work with event management software and virtual platforms if necessary.
- Fundraising Strategy: Experience developing fundraising campaigns or strategies, particularly in the nonprofit sector.
