Location: Greenville, SC FLSA Classification: Exempt Non-Exempt

Position Summary

The Business Development Manager for Young Office is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive

strategic plan that generates qualified (new) business opportunities that will help the company achieve its sales goals.

Position Responsibilities- Essential

  • Develop new customer relationships
  • Seek customers in company target markets through research and direct contact with potential customers
  • Generate project/business opportunities and RFPs through customer contact to meet company’s business plans

and growth strategies

  • Drive the sales process from inquiry/RFP coordination through “Closing the Deal”
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Vendors
  • Collaborate with company management to prepare and implement the company’s Marketing and Business

Development Plan and strategy for meeting business goals

  • Track and report status of potential projects, markets, Customer news, and developments
  • Lead the development and preparation of RFP’s, Pre-Qualification, formal presentations
  • Ensure communications with customers are in accordance with standards and correct in content and format
  • Solicit customer feedback through the project proposal and execution phases
  • Maintain customer/potential customer contact lists
  • Develop and maintain ancillary industry relationships (architects, designers, engineers, real estate professionals,

economic development professionals, general contractors)

  • Participate in Civic, Industry and Business organizations.

Position Responsibilities- Non-Essential/Other

  • Performs other related duties as needed to promote the success of Young Office.
  • Assists other departments as needed.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven record in outside sales experience required; 5 years preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess excellent ability to prioritize and remain organized.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Basic business acumen and an understanding of how the dealership works.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and other software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Positive and upbeat attitude
  • Ability to work in a challenging, dynamic, and high growth environment.
  • Team Player
  • Self-Starter

Beneficial Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University in business, management, or related field.
