We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Childhood Lead Teacher to join our team at the Young Parents Education Center. The ideal candidate must have a passion for working with children and the ability to collaborate with young and diverse families. This role requires physical capability to engage in activities with children, including frequent lifting of up to 40 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, as well as bending, stooping, and getting down on the ground.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide high-quality care and education to young children.

- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities.

- Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.

- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the program.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment.

- Comply with all state regulations and center policies.

Work Schedule:

-Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM

-Enjoy all school holidays and most of the summer off.

Physical Requirements:

- Must be able to lift 40 pounds frequently and 50 pounds infrequently.

- Must be able to bend, lift, stoop, and get down on the ground regularly.

Training Requirements (within 30 days of hire):

1. CPR and First Aid Certification:

- Current certification for infant, child, and adult CPR, infant choking response, and pediatric first aid.

- CPR certification must be completed in a hands-on setting.

2. Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and Safe Sleep Practices: Prevention of sudden infant death syndrome and use of safe sleep practices.

3. Shaken Baby Syndrome and Abusive Head Trauma: Prevention of shaken baby syndrome and abusive head trauma.

4. Unsupervised Care: Training listed in (a) through (c) must be completed before providing unsupervised care.

Additional Training Requirements (within 90 days of hire):

1. Infectious Disease Prevention and Control: Including immunization.

2. Child Development.

3. Medication Administration: Consistent with standards for parental consent.

4. Emergency Response for Food and Allergic Reactions.

5. Building and Physical Premises Safety.

6. Emergency Preparedness and Response.

7. Hazardous Materials Handling: Proper handling, storage, and disposal.

8. Toxic Material Disposal: Appropriate disposal of toxic materials including blood, bodily fluids, and other infectious materials.

9. Transportation Safety.

10. Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention and Reporting: Reporting to proper state authorities.

Qualifications:

1. Must be at least 18 years of age.

2. Must complete facility overview on-the-job training.

3. Must be current on the ECP Practitioner Registry.

4. Must have current certification for infant, child, and adult CPR, infant choking response, and pediatric first aid. CPR certification must be completed in a hands-on setting.

5. Must successfully complete required early childhood teacher orientation as indicated in ARM 37.95.163.

6. Must have the following training and experience:

- Two years of experience in an early childhood program such as a licensed or registered child care facility, or Head Start, plus 32 hours of ECP training; or

- Level 2 or higher on the ECP Practitioner Registry.

Additional Requirements:

- Meet immunization requirements pursuant to ARM 37.95.184.

- Have appropriate background checks pursuant to ARM 37.95.161.

- Sign a health attestation.

Annual Training:
Successfully complete annual training required to remain current on the ECP Practitioner Registry.
