What are the responsibilities and job description for the Directional Drilling Foreman w/CDL position at Young's Communication / Atlantic Engineering Group?
The Directional Bore Foreman will oversee all construction activities of a Directional Bore crew on an assigned project, including, but not limited to directing the tracker / operators in daily work tasks, tracking, boring, trenching, pull fiber, install ground boxes, pour concrete, plow, The position requires the foreman focuses attention on safety, compliance with established project plans, efficiency, and cost management.
The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of work practices related to underground telecommunication construction. Must have proven ability to lead / teach members of a crew and understand and practice safety and quality management best practices and procedures. Regional travel will be required. The directional bore foreman reports to the Construction Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Possess a good working knowledge of construction practices related to the installation and / or maintenance of underground utility lines
- Experience with horizontal directional drill and can safely / effectively operate excavation equipment such as mini-excavators and plow trenchers
- Must be able to read blueprints / job plans and construct project according to the plan and specifications
- Accurately tracks and reports daily production, maintaining regular documentation and ensuring proper paper flow to back-office support
- Must be able to effectively schedule and lay out the work, organizing and monitoring crew personnel for timely completion of job(s). Ensures crew has proper materials, supplies, tools, and equipment necessary to complete work
- Make sure that work sites are cleaned and cleared of any hazardous materials prior to the beginning of a construction project and before leaving site at the end of each workday
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
