About Us:
Young Scholars is dedicated to helping students achieve academic excellence through high-quality tutoring and college preparation programs. We are looking for passionate and experienced educators to join our team and support students in AP Statistics and high school math (Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus preferred but not required).
Position Details:
- Subjects: AP Statistics and High School Mathematics
- Part-time, flexible scheduling
- In-person tutoring at one or more of our centers (La Cañada, San Marino)
Responsibilities:
- Teach AP Statistics concepts aligned with College Board standards
- Support students in high school math coursework and exam preparation
- Create engaging and effective lesson plans and practice materials
- Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback
- Communicate clearly with parents and the Young Scholars team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher (preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Education, or related fields)
- Prior tutoring or teaching experience (AP or high school level strongly preferred)
- Strong knowledge of AP Statistics curriculum and high school math subjects
- Excellent communication skills and a supportive teaching style
- Reliable, responsible, and passionate about education
Compensation
The pay rate for this position will be determined based on your educational background and relevant experience. Please note: the compensation range listed on really is an estimate and may not reflect the actual pay for this role.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Evenings as needed
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
