Summary of Position
Position Information
Assists in implementing programs for undergraduate students to assist with their career development such as resume writing, mock interviews, dress for success, career exploration, etc.
Conducts information meetings for students at all levels.
Regularly communicates with supervisor and other staff, including student workers, as required or needed in the completion of daily tasks in support of the department’s/division’s overall goals and objectives.
Serves as the primary contact for WCBA internships and co-op experiences among students, faculty, and staff.
Oversees the student resume posting and approval process in the electronic system.
Checks student requirements to ensure appropriate pre-requisites have been met for internships and co-ops.
Collaborates with faculty mentors and employers in tracking student progress.
Works with students and faculty members to ensure appropriate documentation is completed in a timely fashion.
Provides an internship orientation for students enrolled in the internship courses each term.
Coordinates reports and data related to WCBA internship and co-operative education; gathers data and prepares reports and other information/documentation for supervisory review related to the department’s/division’s programs and/or services, or one or more assigned components thereof.
Develops various resources for student recruitment and information purposes including a student handbook, brochures, and social media resources.
Coordinates internship presentations at the end of each semester.
Assists in developing partnerships with employers to provide opportunity for all WCBA majors that span a range of organizational opportunities: entrepreneurial, small to medium business, corporate, manufacturing, government agencies, and Fortune 500 companies.
Provides technical support for efficient use of the electronic database, and coordinates database activities.
Other functions and responsibilities: Assists with training new hires.
Performs other duties as assigned and/or required that are within the level of responsibility for this classification at the discretion of the supervisor.
Equipment Operated: Computer and all other standard office equipment.
Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday. Some travel is required.
Supervision Exercised: May exercise supervision over student employees.

Qualifications and Competencies

Minimum Qualifications: At least a bachelor’s degree; and one or more year(s) of general business or education experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in student affairs, counseling, business, or related field. One year of experience in career planning, human resources management, or experiential learning. Experience in resume writing, career assessments, or professional development.
