What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Faculty, Aviation position at Youngstown State University?
Summary of Position
Teaches aviation ground classes on a part-time basis to prepare aspiring pilots for their FAA private, instrument, commercial and/or multi-engine certification exams. Teaches classes in aviation law and regulations. Teaching opportunities will be based upon need each semester.
Position Information
Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday. Teaching assignments may be remote or at various locations.
Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Qualifications and Competencies
Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: Certified as a Flight Instructor (CFI) or Advanced Ground Instructor. Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Minimum Qualifications: At least a bachelor’s degree; three or more years of aviation industry experience. Certified as a Flight Instructor (CFI) or Advanced Ground Instructor to teach FAR Part 141 Ground School content at any of the following levels: Private Pilot, Instrument, Commercial, and Multiengine. Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Preferred Qualifications: At least a master’s from an accredited institution. Demonstrated ability to teach and develop aviation courses at the FAR Part 141 and undergraduate level. Certified as an Instrument Flight Instructor (CFII), Multiengine Flight Instructor (MEI) and as an Air Transport Pilot (ATP).
