We are a medical malpractice law firm looking for a motivated and organized legal assistant or paralegal to join our team. We are looking for someone to work with our lead paralegal in pushing cases along. Day to day tasks would include communicating with clients, obtaining and organizing materials for cases, responding to discovery, and a variety of other tasks. A strong work ethic, good communication skills, ability to self start, and the ability to organize and manage tasks are key. Experience working as a legal assistant or paralegal is preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
- Case management and customer service for clients
- Managing and maintaining prompt communication with clients, courts, and other attorneys
- Managing calendars and scheduling appointments
- Filing documents with the court
- Monitoring and tracking deadlines
- Drafting, editing, and reviewing documents such as pleadings, settlement documents, discovery documents, correspondence, legal drafting, etc.
- Copying, scanning, and organizing documents and medical records
- Scheduling and communicating with medical experts
Required Traits:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Accountability
- Self-motivated
- Organized
- Strong commitment to delivering value to clients.
Preferred Experience:
- 1-3 years legal litigation experience (not required)
- Paralegal or legal education of some kind (not required)
